In December 2023, the Ontario Energy Board was directed by the Ontario Minister of Energy to set a policy to encourage customers to reduce power use during peak times (4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays) and time shift the loads until after 11 p.m. each night.   Project Payback was launched to characterize what really happens and the advantages.   Then explaining, using facts from Hydro one billings, how those with paired solar panels and home batteries never have to pay for electricity again.   It is all explained here.    The latest version is attached.

These times (4 to 9 on weekdays, and after 11pm) are different from the standard Time-of-Use periods on my Hydro-One Energy bills.

Do the times you quote apply to contracts for people with micro-grids?

[EDIT:  You sent me an image of your bill, showing Ultra-Light Overnight (ULO) usage times.  I'm not familiar with this program.  My bill just shows Time-Of-Use (TOU) periods, which are different.  I see you have to apply for this program with Hydro One.  Thanks!]
